On foot in the Zillertal

Hiking paradise in the Zillertal

"Only where you have been on foot have you really been." (Goethe)

At DasPosthotel, all hikes basically start at our doorstep - and the list of possibilities is almost limitless. Beautiful, easy, difficult, long, short, strenuous, or breathtaking paths - whatever your preference, you will surely find your favorite routes with us.

With our hiking guide

Guided hikes

Our certified hiking guide will be delighted to show you the beauty of the Zillertal three days a week from mid-May to October. Hikes take place in the Zillertal High Mountain Nature Park (Zillergrund, Stillup, Gunggl, Schlegeis), Tuxertal, and Gerlos. Information about each hike can be found in our weekly program and is also available at the reception desk.

Hiking tip

Olperer Hut

One of the most famous Instagram photo spots in Tyrol, or perhaps in the entire Alpine region, is the suspension bridge at Olpererhütte. Insta-hype aside, not only the bridge itself but also the hut and the breathtaking view are simply spectacular and definitely worth a visit! The hike to Olperer Hut starts directly from the parking lot of Schlegeis Reservoir and is estimated to take about 1.5 hours. Length & altitude: 6.2 km, approximately 590 meters ascent and descent.
